I got to Cedar City still unsure how best to visit both Zion and
Bryce without too much backtracking and still see some other sights in
the area. One route, past Cedar Breaks Nat Mon,
was over a 9,896 foot pass, and with the weather sputtering
bits of snow and hail here and there, I decided to skip that possibility
and head south to stay overnight near the Zion entrance to get an early
start.
Lo, heading down the freeway and there are signs for another entrance
to the park not mentioned in the books I read. Since it was only about 3:30PM
I decided to have a look.
After this there was no doubt that my trip plans were good.
